Put In:  Rat Trap Bridge
Take Out:  Highway 530 Bridge over the Sauk
Difficulty:  Class III
Gradient:  30 ft/mi
Run Length:  13 miles
Flow Information (phone):  206-526-8530;approx 40-50% of Sauk at Sauk.
Good Level:  1,000 - 5,000 cfs
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
Permit:  None required.
Hazards:  Log hazards, cold water.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Mostly private.
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  No
Location:  In the Pacific Region (WA), 90 miles Northeast of Seattle
Shuttle Logistics:  Take-Out: Drive either 7 miles north of the town of Darrington or 12 miles south of the town of Rockport on Washington Highway 530 to the bridge crossing the Sauk River. Take out on the upstream side of the bridge on the right bank.

Put-In: From the town of Darrington, drive about 7 miles north on Washington Highway 530 (about 12 miles south of the town of Rockport) and turn right (east) onto USFS Road 26. Drive about 10 miles and turn right onto USFS Road 25. Proceed a short distance to Rat Trap Bridge; the put-in is just downstream of the bridge on the left shore.
