Streamflow Comments: 

No gauge for this river exist, this section usually has enough water when the Clackamas River at Three Lynx gauge reads 2,000 - 4,500 cfs

Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, May, June, November, December
Primary Season: 

This section runs during regualar snowmelt season or after a few days of heavy rain.

Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  This section of the Wind consists of many class IV falls and boulder gardens seperated by calm pools. The pool drop nature of this run gives boaters a chance to view the scenery in this deep forested canyon.
Hazards:  The Flume, and Beyond limits are class V rapids that can be scouted or portaged on river left, few people choose to run these drops. Shipherds Falls consists of three drops ranging from 8 to 15 feet. At high water these drops are usually portaged on the river left, at low summer flows these drops can be run. Do not attempt this section of river if it is icy or snowy because the portages become nearly impossible.

Location:  In the Pacific Region (WA), 215 miles Southeast of Seattle
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put-in: Take I-84 to Bridge of the Gods at Bonneville Dam and cross the Columbia River to Hwy 14 and head east some 8 miles to the Senator Henry Bridge. Turn left just before the bridge onto Hot Springs Avenue and drive some 2 miles to Wind River Road and take a right. Drive about 2 miles to High Bridge Road, turn left and then right onto Old Detour Road and proceed to the river.

Take-out: Return to Hwy 14, cross Senator Henry bridge and take a left onto Old Hatchery Road and head to the boat ramp and take-out.
