Put In:  Harrington Place
Take Out:  Big Wolf Creek
Difficulty:  Class II , Class III
Gradient:  51 fpm
Run Length:  6.5 - 11 miles
Current Streamflow:  116 cfs @ 05/26/2012 02:00 PM - TOUTLE RIVER AT TOWER ROAD NEAR SILVER LAKE, WA, reading taken from USGS
Good Level:  700 - 3,000 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  There is no gauge for this river. The south fork is usually running about 40% of the Toutle River at Tower Road Near Silver Lake gauge.
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, November, December
Primary Season:  This river only runs during the rainy season, usually after a few days of heavy rain.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  The first half of this run has twice the gradient as the second half. This section of river is continuous class II/III rapids and is a great run when everything else is to high.
Hazards:  All rapids can be scouted during the shuttle drive
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Public forest
Wilderness:  yes
Location:  In the Pacific Region (WA), 126 miles (2 hours 13 minutes) South of Seattle
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From I-5 take exit 49 onto Highway 504 east, continue for 10 miles to the town of Toutle. At the most eastern end of town turn southeast onto South Fork Toutle Road and continue for 2.4 miles. Turn right onto Weyerhaeuser Road 4100, continue 9.3 miles to a bridge across the river, this is the upper take out. For a longer trip take out at any of the many pullouts 5 miles down river.

Put In: From the upper take out continue up river for 6.3 miles to the next bridge and put in.
