Permits are required year-round. To get on the waiting list, an application must be completed and sent, along with payment for the $100 application fee, to the Grand Canyon River Permits Office. Only applications postmarked in Frebruary will be accepted. This process will get you on the waiting list which currently has over a 12 year wait to be scheduled for a trip. In order to remain on the waiting list you must send a 'Continuing Interest Form' to the River Permits Office every year. Maximum group size per trip is 16. Maximum trip length to Diamond Creek is 18 days from April 16 to October 15; 21 days from October 16 to November 30 and from March 1 to April 15; 30 days from December 1 to February 29. If taking out at Diamond Creek, obtain a permit from the Hualapai Tribal Council. You can reach them at 602-769-2216. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put In: To get to Lees Ferry, take US 89A to the village of Marble Canyon located about 37 miles southwest of the town of Page and about 120 miles north of Flagstaff. Just west of the Navajo Bridge at the village of Marble Canyon turn north onto a road that will lead you to Lees Ferry. Camp only at designated campgrounds and not at the boat ramp.
Take Out: Diamond Creek can be reached by taking US 89 to Flagstaff and turning west onto I-40. Continue for about 70 miles and get off at Seligman (exit 123). Take Arizona Highway 66 west for about 40 miles to the town of Peach Springs and turn right onto Diamond Creek Road (unpaved). Follow this road to the river; about 22 miles.
