Take-out: To reach the take-out travel Northeast from Bakersfield on Hwy 178 about 40 miles to the town of Lake Isabella. Turn left on Hwy 155 to Wofford Heights and continue four more miles to Kernville. Turn left on Sierra Way and continue 14.3 miles upstream to the well marked Calkins Flat Primitive Camping Area.
Put-in: Continue upstream for 2.8 miles to a turn-out that is on a sharp turn. The turnout is about .4 miles below the dam.
