The Blue River forms in Summit County, flows through the town of Breckenridge and eventually joins the Colorado River in Grand County. It cuts through a beautiful forested canyon with the Arapaho National Forest on the east bank and the White River National Forest on the west bank. Boaters will be treated to majestic alpine views of the Gorge Range and the Eagles Nest Wilderness area.
There is one three mile section of continuous whitewater, but in general the rapids are not as technical as those found on other Colorado streams, and thus this is a great river for beginning boaters.
