Lower Deadwood on the Deadwood River
In 2005 several major slides heavily damaged  USFS 024GB about 2 miles above the take-out.  Because of the major damage, the road has been converted to a trail extending the Julie Creek Trail.  Only ATV's, horses, or hikers can use the old road.  To run this section of river you must use the upper put-in and run the entire Deadwood in one day.  This makes for a long run and requires a higher skill level than that required for the lower run.  This is a permanent change so the lower Deadwood is no longer a viable run without running the upper as well.
