The first mile and a half is the most difficult section of the Snake and arguably the biggest water in Idaho. Large volume and steep gradient produce huge hydraulics and massive waves with definition and drop. The remaining five miles are flat with excellent scenery through basalt gorges. |
| Hazards: |
Star Falls, an unrunnable 40 ft drop below the take-out. Boaters should scout the entire mile and a half of whitewater before putting in. |
