Magnificent wilderness run with excellent scenery. At high flows several rapids become Class V and the whitewater becomes nearly continuous. Once peak snowmelt is over, flows drop quickly. |

Take-out: US Hwy 2 follows the river from Bear Creek to West Glacier providing numerous accesses. Essex Bridge is the US Hwy 2 bridge over the river. |
