Although the Metolius River on this run will probably be much less than the flows at the gauge, there is only one gauge. Because the river is spring fed, the flows are very steady and generally will only fluctuate a few hundred cfs. |

Because of springs that feed the Metolius, it can be boated year round. However, the winters near Sisters, OR can be very cold and snowy. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put In: Between Santiam Pass and the town of Sisters on US Highway 20 turn north onto the Metolius/Camp Sherman Road and drive for about 2.5 miles then bear right at the intersection. Proceed on USFS Road 14 (paved) and then follow signs to Camp Sherman. Put in on the bridge where the road crosses the river at Camp Sherman Bridge.
Take Out: From Camp Sherman Bridge return to FS 14 and proceed downstream to the Gorge Campground. |
