Take-Out: To reach Flaming Geyser State Park take Washington Highway 169 to SE Green Valley Road about three quarters of a mile north of the Hwy 169 bridge over the Green River between the town of Enumclaw to the south and the town of Black Diamond to the north. Follow Green Valley Road west to the entrance of the park, about 2.5 miles, and continue another 1.5 miles to the upstream end of the park where the take-out is at big picnic area on the left bank. If coming from the west, drive east on SE Green Valley Road to reach the park.
Put-In: Kanaskat-Palmer State Park can be reached by taking Washington Highway 169 to the town of Black Diamond and turning east onto Green River Gorge Road. Continue on Green River Gorge Road for about 4.5 miles and make a sharp left turn about a half a mile after crossing the Franklin Bridge over the green. Proceed for about 2 miles, turn left onto Kanaskat-Cumberland Road, and continue for about another 2 miles then turn left into the park. Follow the sign to the upper boat launch. |
