At low flows the Cheat offers Class III pool-drop rapids. At high flows the pools disappear and the run becomes continuous Class III-IV with two possible Class V rapids. A blend of the Lower Gauley and the New River Gorge. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put-in: A common put-in for campers is at one of the commercial campgrounds near Albright on Hwy 26. Otherwise put-in at the bridge in Albright.
Take-out: To reach Jenkinsburg Bridge take Hwy 26 north from Albright 6 miles to Valley Point and turn left onto Route 15 (Hudson Road). Continue some 5 miles to Mt. Nebo and proceed straight through the intersection for 2.3 miles to the edge of the canyon. Jenkinsburg is another 1.2 miles at the bottom of the canyon. The shuttle is difficult and many boaters make arrangements with Glen Miller's Shuttle Service; 304-379-3404. |
