Within 3 miles there are 17 rapids, all Class V-VI with ample undercut rocks. At high levels it's pushy but there are several sneak routes. Only in the last couple of miles does the river ease off into a reasonable run. |

Put-in: Head north on WV 41 to the Mount Lookout Road and take a left. Continue for 2 miles to US 19, bear left to the bridge. At least two roads lead down to the river, which at times may be impassable.
Take-out: Inquire locally for updated information on this difficult take-out.
