| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put-in: Drive southwest from Encampment on Hwy 70 about 6 miles. Turn left on USFS Road 550 and drive south 15 miles to the intersection with USFS Road 496. Turn left on 496 and drive 4 miles to where the road crosses the Encampment in Commissary Park. Park a couple hundred yards north of the bridge. The put-in can also be reached via unpaved roads from Colorado Hwy 125 to the east or from Steamboat Springs, CO to the south. From Hwy 125 at Cowdrey, CO, drive west on a paved road that eventually becomes USFS Road 80 and leads to the put-in described above.
Take-out: Odd Fellows Bridge is located about 2 miles south of the town of Encampment, WY. To reach the bridge, drive west out of Encampment on Wyoming Hwy 70. Just outside of town, bear left on unpaved Carbon County Road 353. Descend to and cross the North Fork of the Encampment, then climb about a half mile to a "Y" in the road. Bear left, descend to the river, then bear right and continue upstream past the BLM campground to the parking lot and foot bridge. |
