Copperhill Tennessee River Running Guide

Weather for Copperhill Tennessee ForecastLocated in the rough center point from the cities of Atlanta, Chattanooga, Asheville and Knoxville, Copperhill is the perfect distance to get away quickly and easily from wherever you find yourself.  Copperhill is the birthplace to the Ocoee River, and where the river changes names from the Toccoa River in Georgia to become the Ocoee in Tennessee.  Copperhill has one of the most interesting and unique histories of all the towns in the Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina region.  The unique and historic town straddles the state line with Georgia and is a great starting (or ending) point to enjoy three nearby National Forests and all they have to offer (The Cherokee, Chattahoochee and Nantahala), the world-famous Ocoee River, site of the 1996 Olympic Games whitewater events, world-class whitewater and paddling sports, as well as the largest wilderness area in the Southeastern United States, the nearby Cohutta Wilderness Area.  The gentle Hiwassee river is also nearby with year-round outdoor recreational opportunities such as fly-fishing and rafting and paddling sports.  Many world-class motorcycling routes pass near or through Copperhill.  If you like railroad excursions, the outdoors, whitewater paddling or rafting, mountain biking, hiking, fishing in beautiful mountain rivers and streams, mining heritage museums and attractions, or just relaxing, Copperhill is the place for you!
