Weather for Fayetteville West Virginia Forecast

Fayetteville, West Virginia is located in the mountainous heart of southern West Virginia.  This destination offers outdoor enthusiasts near and far beautiful scenery, exciting outdoor adventure, romantic getaways, or that long awaited family vacation.  Fayetteville and its surrounding areas have plenty of activities and attractions to keep even the liveliest visitor happy.

For the outdoor enthusiast at hear, Fayetteville is located in a grand outdoor playground. Often called Gateway to the New River Gorge, Fayetteville is perched in the rim of the 800 foot deep New River Gorge. Far below those fabled walls, the New River carves out her ancient path over boulders and under the second longest steel arch bridge in the world. The New River Gorge is home to miles of sandstone rock climbing of varying degrees. Whitewater rafting, kayaking, and fishing draw visitors from all time zones to experience the majestic beauty of the second oldest river in the world.

For miles on the north and south sides of the Gorge, the river and boundary land is protected by the National Park Service as part of the New River Gorge National River. This outdoor recreation destination includes three visitors’/interpretive centers and miles of hiking, biking and birding trails. Not to be outdone, the Gauley River Recreation Area is located just north of Fayetteville, hosting world class whitewater and scenic beauty.
